News Sara Gets 5th at USATF Indoor 1500m
March 1, 2009 - For the first time in her running career, Sara Vaughn ran at the USA Track and Field Indoor Championships in the 1500m last Sunday night. Vaughn used her finishing speed to hold 5th place, nearly out-kicking 4th place Olympian Jen Rhines.
Vaughn finished in 4:22.29, an indoor personal best for the event.
"I felt very comfortable for the first half of the race, as we went out on a very slow pace. I knew the top women were going to take-off with 400m or 600m to go, so I just tried to put myself in position to go with them," Vaughn said. Though she's happy with her race that capped her indoor season, she's looking for bigger and better things this coming spring and summer. Stay tuned...
